What is special about your centre?

  • We are a small centre of up to 20 children. Our ratios allow us to spend quality time with the children.
  • Our staff have been very committed to our centre for a number of years.
  • We offer a daily programme for our four year old children supporting their transition to school.
  • We work in response to the children’s interests and our programme is child focused based on the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum.
  • We believe mixing age groups supports childrens developing social competence and reflects familiy environments.
  • Our children develop close relationships and often continue their friendships outside the centre.
  • We value the connections we make within our community. This involves trips outside the centre or visits to our centre to support the children’s interest and learning.
  • We are proud of our natural outdoor play environment and gardens which we are continuing to develop.

Do you offer 20 hours ECE?

Yes, the 20 hours ECE scheme provides a basic subsidy for our 3 and 4 year olds of up to 20 hours per week (capped at 6 hours per day).

This does not mean our operating costs are fully covered by government funding, and our fees covers costs such as the higher teacher to child ratio and the remaining hours your child is at our centre.

Am I eligible for WINZ assistance?

This is dependant of families income and we can assist by providing the application forms.

Where are you located?

We are at 2 Burnham Street, Petone. This is a quiet residential street off Cuba Street close to the Alicetown shops. We are less than a two minute walk from the Ava railway station and have very easy access to the Sh2 motorway.
